Dear Parish of St. Paul,

I trust each of you has had a blessed and safe Advent, ready to celebrate the birth of our Lord! This Christmas season brings with it a much-needed focus on the promise we have in Jesus that the world is being put to rights and that God is still in control.

The news we are hearing from our public health authorities regarding the Omicron variant of COVID-19 is discouraging and alarming and I encourage all of us to be sure to celebrate safely this Christmas. The Alberta Health Authorities have not placed additional restrictions on our gatherings (as a “Place of Worship”), but I want both to assure you that at St. Paul’s we will stay within the restrictions that are in place to keep us safe, and to ask that those who attend our services this week (particularly on Christmas Eve) be extra-mindful of the safety of others. As a reminder, here is what we will be doing:

  • Masks must be worn at all times, particularly while singing.
  • Maintain social distancing (2m) between households at all times.
    • This means being sure that we have 2 metres between those in front and behind of us while we are seated.
    • Please use the balcony to ensure that we maintain proper distance while seated.
  • Use hand sanitizer often.
  • There will be no common cup during communion.

I look forward to celebrating the birth of Christ with all of you and assure you that we will do so as safely as possible.

Christmas Blessings,

Myron+
