The Edmonton Music & Speech Arts Festival begins next week, giving thousands of music students, actors, musicians and music lovers the opportunity to perform and improve their craft. This year the performances will be held at MacEwan University – Alberta College Campus (10050 MacDonald Drive NW)Robertson-Wesley United Church (10209123 Street NW), the Old Strathcona Performing Arts Centre (8426 Gateway Boulevard NW), and Archbishop MacDonald Catholic High School (14219 109 Avenue NW). This festival runs April 17-29, 2023. For more information please visit https://www.emsaf.ca/.

Guess who’s coming to visit? Inspired by the movie “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?” we are organizing a fun event for Sunday, April 30. Are you willing to host a parish member (or two) for a visit in your yard or home? Perhaps you are interested in being a guest? To sign up for an outdoor visit with another member of the congregation on Sunday, April 30 from 2:00-3:00pm, please email Michelle Schurek michelle@stpauls-anglican.ca. We will be keeping group sizes to 4-8 people (2-3 households). Registration closes Monday, April 24, 2023 at 9pm.

Outreach Highlight: ST PAUL’S KIDS’ CREW is a free program we run at our church for neighbourhood kids in Grovenor. This program runs on Thursdays from 2:30-4:00pm, which coincides with early dismissal at Grovenor Elementary School, where all our participants attend. Kids’ Crew is a fun time of games, activities, arts & crafts, and free time that gives the kids a chance to play together in a safe place without the distraction of technology. We are thrilled that Lisa Muyambo, our program facilitator, has been running the program since October 2022! She does a great job and the kids love her for her friendliness, attention and care. Our last session of Kids’ Crew for this school year will finish up on May 4, and we are looking forward to offering it again in the fall.
