Sanctuary Mental Health Ministries is an organization located in Vancouver, BC, serving and equipping the Church to support people’s mental health and wellbeing. Their flagship program, The Sanctuary Course, was created to equip churches as they seek to become sanctuaries where individuals with mental health challenges feel safe, supported, and a sense of belonging. Each session explores key mental health topics, drawing upon the insights of mental health professionals, church leaders, and people with lived experience. We are exploring the possibility of running this course in the fall, to better equip each of us at St Paul’s to support mental health and wellbeing. Topics covered include Mental Health, Mental Illness, Stigma, Recovery, Companionship, Caregiving, and Self-Care.

Curators at the Royal Alberta Museum periodically host an information session about a particular item in the gallery. This series is called “UP CLOSE: Stories, Objects and Ideas From Beyond the Galleries.” On Friday, May 20, 2022 from 12:00 noon – 1:00 pm, Assistant Collections Curator of Archaeology Karen Giering will share what has been discovered about Elk Ivory Pendants in Alberta. Please visit royalalbertamuseum.ca/RAM-Up-Close for more information. We are excited to have Bishop Steve coming for a visit to the Parish of St. Paul on Sunday, May 29, 2022! This will also be a Service of Confirmation (which only the Bishop can do). Rev. Myron would love to hear from anyone who is interested in either (or both) Confirmation and Baptism! Please let the office know by Sunday, May 1, if you would like to be baptized or confirmed. The 2022 St Paul’s Parish Retreat is coming up this weekend, May 13-15! We are looking forward to being out at Camp Nakamun, a wonderful lakeside camp that offers great food, fun activities and a welcoming facility. This summer, Macreena Schurek is in her second year of the Leadership Training and Discipleship (LTD) program at Gull Lake Centre. It is a three-year, experiential learning program for High School students. Students are taught about leadership with emphases on personal development, social justice, evangelism, communication, and teamwork through experiences in spiritual formation, cabin leading, inner-city service, hiking, and more. Macreena is seeking financial support for this, with a goal of raising $1700 by the end of the summer. During the week of May 29 – June 3, the Spring Clean is an opportunity to do deal with some of the larger cleaning and organizing projects at St. Paul’s, as well as to do some special cleaning (kid’s toys, windows, etc.). There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer – please sign up if you plan to stop by.  

St. Paul’s bulletins are available to view digitally, through a phone, tablet, or computer, and can be accessed on our website under the Sermons tab, or by scanning the QR Code at the bulletin stations. As well, there are links throughout the bulletin that will take you to the various websites by clicking underlined headings, including the social media icons at the bottom. On our website we also now have online giving.
