June is National Indigenous History Month. Learning about Indigenous History is a life-long pursuit, as is the work of Reconciliation. Please visit HERE for links to a number of online learning opportunities from the Government of Canada, and also HERE for specific ideas on how to virtually celebrate National Indigenous People’s Day on June 21, 2022.

Care & Concern Team at St Paul’s – Periodically, we have requests from people in need for things such as help with groceries, meals or gas. If you are able to help in some way, whether through contributing a few frozen meals or a grocery gift card, please talk with or email Michelle Schurek michelle@stpauls-anglican.ca. As we move into the summer season and many people are away for vacation, please consider how you can support others facing challenging times.

YoungLife is committed to serving teens through meaningful relationships. They create spaces where teens feel heard, topics like faith and life are discussed, and Jesus is introduced.  YoungLife West Edmonton (our neighbour to the east) is hosting a number of fundraising events in June, and you’re invited!

  • June 10th - The Big Sky & Backroads Fondo. It is a cycling fundraiser where people sign up to ride a distance that is within their ability (50, 80, 100, or 125 KM) and raise pledges in support of YoungLife's work with teens. They are looking for more people to join the West Edmonton cycling team. To join the team, register here: https://give.younglife.ca/event/big-sky-and-backroads-fondo-2023/e482214. To donate go to: https://give.younglife.ca/westedmontonfondo2023.
  • June 15th - Large Scale Bottle Drive to help teens raise funds for summer camp. People can bring their bottles to the YoungLife office between 3:00-6:00 PM on the 15th of June. They can also collect bottles if people need. All money raised from the bottle drive goes directly to teens' camp fees.
