Community Corner for October 2, 2022SAVE THE DATE: It's a long way off, but we have tentatively confirmed our St Paul's Church Retreat for June 2-4, 2023! Please mark it on your calendar so you are sure to be there. Kids on Track is excited to announce the Annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Saturday, October 8. This FREE, OUTDOOR dinner is an opportunity for families to meet others and connect with the community. The meal will include some of your favourites- Turkey, Stuffing, Potatoes and more! This event is an amazing time for our community, but it doesn't just happen. We need your help, please consider volunteering! We need fire patrol (people to help tend the fires), food servers, registration help, and more. The time for volunteers is 2:00-8:00pm. If you are interested in, contact the Program Manager, Jessica to get plugged in: jessica@kidsontrack.org. WOW – only 8 weeks until Advent starts! Once again we will be hosting a special gingerbread house night, and we’re back to having a shared meal too! Plus, we’ll be branching out to include cookie decorating. It’s going to be a lot of fun. Mark your calendars – Friday, November 25! Now is the time to talk to Michelle Schurek if you have any other suggestions or requests for making this coming Advent a time of celebration for our wider church family!

Announcing St Paul’s Kids Crew! With the support of a “Say ‘YES’ to Kids’ Grant from the AFC, we’re excited to announce St Paul’s Kids Crew! This group of elementary school kids (ages 6-12, grades 1-6) will get a weekly opportunity from September 15 to December 15 for activities that enhance their emotional, social, and recreational lives. Kids Crew will meet on Thursdays from 2:30-4:00pm as this is Grovenor Elementary School’s early dismissal day. In addition to meeting weekly, participants get to bring their family members to special, once-a-month, no-cost family meals. This is a great way to get to know other kids and their families, have fun together, and enjoy a nice night out. Please pray for the families in Grovenor who would benefit from this program, and for staff and volunteers for the various aspects of this ministry. We are also looking for a part-time program facilitator. If you know someone who may be interests in this, please have them contact michelle@stpauls-anglican.ca.

Cocoa ConnectionsWe're starting something new in Kids' Club (aka Sunday School): Cocoa Connections! We all have our own unique stories about what God has done and is doing in our lives; this is an opportunity to get to know and encourage our 'youngers' in their own faith journey. Once a month Kids' Club will invite a special guest to share in steaming cups of hot chocolate and treats and to respond to interview questions asked by the kids. This will be assisted by our Cocoa Connections facilitator Cara Roemmich. We invite you to share your faith stories with the children in our St. Paul's family; prepare to be encouraged in return! Please consider saying 'YES!' to taking part by talking to any of the Kids' Club team: Cara Roemmich, Carol Rudat, Renee Jackson and Margot Byer.
