Community Corner for Sunday, June 5, 2022

Community Corner for Sunday, June 5, 2022

June is National Indigenous History Month. Learning about Indigenous History is a life-long pursuit, as is the work of Reconciliation. Please visit HERE for links to a number of online learning opportunities from the Government of Canada, and also HERE for specific ideas on how to virtually celebrate National Indigenous People’s Day on June 21, 2022.

June is also National Pride Month. There are many events around Edmonton this month that you can be a part of. Visit https://www.infoedmonton.com/article/celebrate-pride-month-in-edmonton/ for more information.

Bishop Steve London has written “Together on the Way,” to offer his thought about the challenges and themes the Diocese should be focused on moving forward toward Synod 2022. As you may (or may not) know, our church is at a significant point in her path, with several challenges to face. He has invited all of us to read it, and then offer our thoughts and reflections. Please visit HERE to access it, take some time to read it and then reply with your feedback. The Bishop would like to hear from you.

  MoveIn Edmonton Prayer Journey

MoveIn Edmonton Prayer Journey

Lauren and Asher H. invite you to join them and their MoveIn team to do a 5 km prayer walk through Central McDougall and McCauley on June 18 at 10:00 am. This global event has people praying and walking through high needs neighborhoods in places like Jakarta, Hamburg, and San Salvador. We will join with them in our small corner of the world to lift up prayers for the many needs in our neighborhood. Visit the button below to register. While the registration will give you the option to fundraise for your walk, we welcome all to join whether you choose to fundraise or not. We hope you can join us!
