Two festivals you do not want to miss are the Edmonton Heritage Festival July 30 – Aug 2 and World Music Week July 28-Aug 2, both hosted in our beautiful Hawrelak Park. This year, you can purchase food directly at the pavilions with Debit or Credit – no need to purchase tickets! With over 150 countries represented in food, music, dance and dress, there is something for everyone to enjoy. For more information, visit www.heritagefest.ca.

Did you know the Mustard Seed is building a brand new supportive housing facility on Stony Plain Road and 155 St.? This very important addition of supportive housing in the west end is just getting started with the goal of opening September 2023. It will also provide access to advocacy, housing supports, showers, laundry facilities and community-focused activities and events. To learn more, and to support the Mustard Seed, please visit www.theseed.ca/canora-centre.

The Truth and Reconciliation 94 Calls to Action were published in 2012. 10 years later, how far has Canada come in completing any of these items? So far, only 13 have been completed and 19 haven’t been addressed at all. CBC has created an interactive website for you to explore this topic. Visit their Beyond 94 website HERE to discover which calls to action are completed, in progress or not yet started. As citizens, we play an important part in encouraging our government officials to complete the calls to action in a timely manner.
