Tuesday (Sept 30) is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. As we pause on that day, we are invited to work on learning, support, and growth in activities that encourage reconciliation. Take some time to reflect on the ways you have learned more about Indigenous, First Nations, and Metis people here in Amiskwaciwâskahikan (Edmonton) and in Treaty 6 Territory over the last year. Whether you read a book by an Indigenous author, participated in the National Indigenous Day in June, helped out at one of the Indigenous facilities in the city, or something else, every little bit helps. Remember to wear your orange t-shirt as an acknowledgement of the truth of residential schools and your commitment to keep participating in reconciliation.
