As we approach September 30, 2025, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, please take some time to reflect on the 10th anniversary of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. 15 of the 94 Calls to Action have been met, many are in progress and several have not yet been started. There are still Indigenous communities without access to clean drinking water. The article “Ten Years Later: Remembering the Truth” outlines the work that has been completed and what still needs to be done. You can read it at https://downiewenjack.ca/10th-anniversary-of-the-trc-final-reports/. Please wear your orange shirt next Sunday, as we will observe Orange Shirt Day during our service on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
