August 23, 2025 marks the 149th anniversary of the signing of Treaty 6. The City of Edmonton made August 23 our official Treaty Recognition Day in 2013, and you can visit their website HERE. It is worthwhile and eye opening to learn and reflect on what Canada’s representatives agreed to when they entered into this treaty relationship.
