Grovenor Community and St Paul’s Church – Stong neighbourhoods grow when neighbours know each other, share their gifts & work together. At St Paul’s, we want to support community ideas that come from the people who live in the community. We continue to be involved in many ways – supporting the local elementary school, hosting the daycare, frequenting Ch. Cafeteria (the coffee shop on 148 St and Stony Plain Road), and offering a shared meal on the 4th Saturday of each month. If you have other thoughts about how we can show up as a good neighbour in Grovenor, especially as a community partner to support this thriving community, please let us know by speaking with Michelle Schurek or emailing the office.
It’s been 2 ½ years since we ran our first Community Dinner, and it is wonderful to reflect on how this has grown and changed in that time. In addition to helping with food security for Edmontonians in general, this ministry has bloomed into one of volunteerism, fellowship and belonging. With approximately 60 guests each month, as well as 15 volunteers, we are enjoying the emergence of a community that is supportive, caring and encouraging. We have welcomed volunteers from all over the city as well! At our next dinner on March 28, we will welcome students of CCI-LIX to help serve the meal and host our guests.
