The International Children’s Festival of the Arts is an annual festival running in
St Albert from May 29-June 1, 2026. “This magical multi-day festival transforms the
banks of the Sturgeon River in downtown St. Albert into a mighty carnival as more
than 55,000 kids come out to play with professional artists from across the country
and around the world. The International Children's Festival's mission is to bring the
best in children's arts and cultural experiences to the region in a way that removes
barriers, fosters joy, creativity, and inspires the next generation of artists and patrons
of the arts.” For more information, as well as tickets & admission, please

Mark your calendar! June 1 st  is “Intergenerational Day” in Canada, and there are
so many things you can do to mark the day. We need cross-generational
connections. On June 1 st , take the time to find someone from a different generation
(ie. Born a decade before or after you). Whether you simply make eye contact, hold
the door open for that person, and tell them to “Have a good day!” or you make time
for a short walk, shared meal or simply write them a card, you’ll have made a
difference! The day is an opportunity to create a more age-friendly society by giving
older adults and youth a chance to connect and better understand each other. It is
intended as a chance to celebrate the wealth of experience and knowledge that
seniors contribute to society as well as a time for different generations to share and learn from each other.
