WELCOME to St. Paul’s Children’s Ministry! We love to connect children to the God who knows and loves them. We also seek to encourage families to take their child’s faith development seriously – and at the same time take care of themselves too.
Our MISSION is to “partner with parents to provide vibrant, age-relevant programs for children at St. Paul’s so that they may know, love, serve and share Jesus.” We invite you to join us!
EACH SUNDAY (from September until June) we offer a complete range of Sunday school classes at the 10:30 am worship service led by our wonderful team of teachers. Children stay with their parents in the sanctuary for the first half of the worship service. They go to their Sunday school classes following a short Children’s Focus Time, when they are asked to come to the front for a song or an object lesson.
SNACKS are provided in each Sunday school classroom. Let us know if your child has allergies or special needs. We’d like to make them feel welcome.
PRAYER – if you would like prayer for you, your family or your child, please let us know. You are also free to join us for COFFEE in the main hall after each service!
Nursery: Ages 0-2
Bring your wee-one to our colourful nursery (located right outside the sanctuary by the side entrace) when all the other children leave for Sunday School. Dedicated supervisors are there to help you with our sign-in system and any questions you might have.
The Chickadees: Ages 2 & 3, The Robins: Ages 4 & 5, Grades 1 & 2, and Grades 3 & 4:
Come join our classes which are filled with worship, fun Bible lessons and time with new friends. Each classroom has a dedicated teacher and a parent volunteer. Parents/caregivers pick up their child in the classroom following the service.
The Flock: Grades 5 & 6
If you are in grade 5 or 6, "The Flock" is definitely for you! We learn lots about Jesus and our faith. We worship, study, craft and enjoy a snack. We go on cool outings, do projects to give back to the community and have a good time hanging out together!
IN THE SUMMER, the children join together for a large-group session each week. Ages 3 and under attend regular parent-supervised sessions.
At home, we encourage children to read their bibles. If you have books or materials that work for you, we’d love to hear your ideas. Meanwhile, we offer the following suggestion from our curriculum provider:
Scripture Union has excellent daily Bible reading guides for use in personal devotions for all ages. Their children’s Bible reading guides are an excellent resource for helping children cultivate the personal habits of daily Bible reading and prayer.
The Guides are:
Tiddlywinks (pre-schoolers)
Join in, Jump on (5-6 year olds)
Hotshots (7-8 year olds)
Snapshots (9-11 year olds)
One Up (12-14 year olds)
Airlock (15-18 year olds)
Adults, a choice of Daily Bread, Closer to God, or Encounter with God.
Our Children's Ministry Team includes a lot of people, from Youth Helpers to Parents to Volunteer Teachers. We applaud them all.
